Assem Allam: 'Hull City funding has to stop'

Assem Allam reiterates that he will not continue to 'throw money' at Hull City unless he wins his appeal to change the club's name.

Hull City owner Assem Allam has indicated that he will invest no further money into the club should he lose his appeal to the Football Association regarding a change of name to Hull Tigers.

The 75-year-old revealed last month that he had put the Humberside outfit up for sale after his proposed rebrand was rejected.

Allam has reiterated his stance on the controversial name change, saying that he will now alter his approach following a £30m summer-spending spree.

"[The spending] stops now. It has to stop," Allam told BBC Sport. "I won't pay out if I cannot create income. That is called 'throwing money at it'. I won't throw money at a problem. I want to deal with the problem."

Hull are currently 16th in the Premier League table ahead of their weekend meeting with Crystal Palace at the KC Stadium.
