Steve Bruce to give Hull City youth a chance this season

Manager Steve Bruce insists that he will not be afraid to give Hull City's youngster a chance to impress in the Championship this season.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce insists that he will have no qualms giving the club's best youngsters a chance to shine in the Championship this year.

Greg Luer and Calaum Jahraldo-Martin have both found the net in pre-season, while Matty Dixon and Brian Lenihan have also featured prominently.

"Are they ready for the Championship? Why not? A few of them have had really good pre-seasons and they can smell an opening," Bruce told The Hull Daily Mail.

"They've got the bit between their teeth and that's exactly what I've been looking for. They've got to make sure they push the old ones now. That's vitally important."

City begin their season by hosting Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.
