Inter Milan have announced that captain Andrea Ranocchia has signed a new four-year deal with the club.
The defender has become a key figure at the San Siro since his move from Genoa in 2011, and he immediately became a crucial part of Roberto Mancini's plans when the head coach returned to the club for a second spell halfway through last season.
Ranocchia, who has made over 150 competitive appearances for Inter, has committed his future to the Serie A side until the summer of 2019 as Mancini looks to continue building a squad capable of challenging for titles once again.
The news of the 27-year-old's contract arrives on the same day it was revealed that goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo had signed a two-year extension.
