Leicester City coach Nigel Pearson labels the sending off of Paul Konchesky during his side's defeat to Aston Villa as a decision that was "essentially one-sided".

Leicester City coach Nigel Pearson has labelled the decision to hand full-back Paul Konchesky a red card during his side's 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa as "one-sided".

The Leicester defender was sent off after an incident with Villa's Alan Hutton, as both players appeared to clash heads following Konchesky's tackle on the Scotland international.

"Initially we were under the impression it [red card] was for the challenge, if it was I would question that - I don't think it was a straight red," Pearson said after the game, according to talkSPORT.

"If it was for the coming together of heads, then I don't feel he [Konchesky] was the instigator of that.

"I don't want players to get sent off but I do feel there needs to be equality and clarity as to what actually happened and why the decision was essentially one-sided."

The defeat sees Leicester rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table on 10 points.
