Late Moses Odubajo strike gives Leyton Orient victory

Moses Odubajo hits an 83rd-minute winner as Leyton Orient record a 2-1 win over Colchester United at the Matchroom Stadium.

Moses Odubajo struck an 83rd-minute winner as Leyton Orient recorded a 2-1 win over Colchester United at the Matchroom Stadium this afternoon.

David Mooney had fired Orient into a 1-0 half-time lead before Marcus Bean levelled matters on 79 minutes.

However, Odubajo pounced four minutes later to snatch the points for the Londoners, who slip behind Wolverhampton Wanderers in the table on goal difference.

The Irishman opened the scoring on 21 minutes, latching o to a Dean Cox cross to rifle beyond goalkeeper Sam Walker.

United responded well to falling behind and nearly provided a riposte on the half-hour mark through Gavin Massey, who shot narrowly wide of Eldin Jakupovic's post.

Kevin Lisbie - recalled to the starting lineup for the first time in two games - almost justified his inclusion by doubling the advantage shortly after, wriggling free of his marker before forcing a good save from Walker.

Walker was tested once again midway through the second half when he had to deny Cox from registering a two-goal advantage.

Parity was restored in the final 10 minutes after Bean headed a Ryan Dickson cross beyond Jakupovic, but Odubajo latched onto a Shaun Batt pass minutes later to claim the win for Russell Slade's men.
