Diego Perotti out of Liverpool match, Kevin Strootman doubtful

Diego Perotti is expected to sit out Roma's meeting with Liverpool in the Champions League next week, while Kevin Strootman is also in a race against time to feature.

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco has revealed that midfielder Diego Perotti is expected to miss around two weeks with a suspected sprained ankle.

The 29-year-old picked up the injury during the first leg of the Giallorossi's Champions League semi-final defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Kevin Strootman also sustained a knock at Anfield and is seen as a doubt for the return fixture in five days' time, with the Dutchman sitting out Saturday's meeting against Chievo.

Perotti netted a late penalty for the Italian side to just about keep the last-four tie alive, adding to Edin Dzeko's strike from four minutes beforehand to make it 5-2.

Roma are third in the Serie A standings ahead of their home match with Chievo, level on points with Lazio in fourth.
