Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is under enormous pressure to get his team selection spot on for the second leg of his side's Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid.

Trailing 3-1 from the first leg, Klopp continues to cope without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson, so the inexperienced Nat Phillips and Ozan Kabak will continue to marshal the rearguard in front of Alisson.

Trent Alexander-Arnold silenced his critics at the weekend with a delightful winner against Aston Villa, but having been at fault for Real's second goal in the first leg, the England international will step out onto the Anfield turf with a point to prove.

Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum are shoo-ins to start in the engine room, but Naby Keita's poor first-half performance in Madrid cost him his place after just 42 minutes, so the final spot in Klopp's midfield three is up for grabs.

Curtis Jones should recover from a muscular issue in time to make himself available, and the club are yet to witness the best of Thiago on occasions such as this one, but 35-year-old James Milner could provide some much-needed experience and leadership in the middle of the park.

Mohamed Salah's spot on the right is safe as he looks to follow in Steven Gerrard's footsteps and score for the fifth Champions League game in a row, while Sadio Mane was brought on as a substitute against Aston Villa so should be brought back in on the left.

There will be no Anfield heroics from the injured Divock Origi this time around, but Roberto Firmino's spot at the forefront of the attack is far from safe given the resurgence of Diogo Jota - who started the first leg - but Klopp may place his faith in the Brazilian this week.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane
