Half-Time Report: No goals at Anfield

Liverpool fail to turn domination into goals during the opening 45 minutes of their match against West Ham United.

Neither Liverpool nor West Ham United were able to break the deadlock during the opening 45 minutes of their Premier League contest at Anfield this afternoon.

The hosting Reds, who dominated large parts of the half, created their first opening with seven minutes on the clock when Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho saw his low strike saved by Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Next to try his luck was Liverpool's leading goalscorer Luis Suarez, but his effort in the 22nd minute was dragged wide of the target.

The same player was then released by Coutinho in the 30th minute and he managed to get a shot away, only to see Jaaskelainen block the ball.

Should Liverpool claim the victory, then they could leapfrog rivals Everton into sixth.
