Kenny Dalglish: 'Luis Suarez departure is like Barcelona losing Lionel Messi'

Kenny Dalglish feels that Luis Suarez's loss to Liverpool is the same as if Lionel Messi were to decide to leave Barcelona.

Kenny Dalglish believes that Luis Suarez's departure from Liverpool is equivalent to if Lionel Messi decided to leave Barcelona.

The Uruguayan international joined the Catalan club in the summer in a £75m deal from the Reds after an excellent season in the Premier League, where he scored 31 goals in 33 matches.

Dalglish feels that, despite his occasional poor behaviour on the field, Suarez is still greatly missed by the club and their supporters.

"How would Barcelona fans feel if Lionel Messi left, for example?" Dalglish told BarcaTV.

"It was a huge disappointment for Liverpool fans, but obviously life must go on. I believe every fan would to see him love to return to Liverpool one day.

"He scored 31 goals and missed 6 games, but he also had an awful lot of assists. More than 50% of Liverpool's goals, you'll love it when you see him. They were a little bit disappointed but he left with the best wishes of everyone."

Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League after a below-par start to the season.
