Liverpool winger Stewart Downing has said that the team are trying their best to entertain fans this season.

Kenny Dalglish's side are currently fifth in the Premier League thanks to their free-scoring form, and Downing believes that they are playing the right way.

"It's good to see the fans are enjoying watching the team play and the way we're trying to play," the England international told LFC Magazine.

"We're trying our best for them because they deserve it.

"I think fans watch football to be entertained. They want to see goals and forward players attacking. It's nice when you can do that."

The Merseyside club host Manchester United after the international break.
