Luis Suarez's four-month ban will not block transfers from Liverpool

FIFA confirm that Luis Suarez can complete any possible transfer away from Liverpool this summer after receiving a four-month ban.

FIFA have confirmed that any transfer regarding Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will be allowed to go ahead this summer after he was handed a four-month ban.

The Uruguay striker was hit with a four-month suspension from all football activity, as well as a nine-match ban on international level after being found guilty of biting.

The controversial frontman committed the act on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini's shoulder during Uruguay's 1-0 win at the World Cup in Brazil on Tuesday.

Along with his ban on playing, Suarez has been suspended from any administrative aspects of football, which raised questions over whether the striker will be permitted to complete a transfer away from the club this summer.

However, FIFA have clarified that Suarez, who has been linked to both Real Madrid and Barcelona, will be allowed to join another club this summer should he leave Anfield.

Suarez has the right to appeal the sanction.
