Liverpool's Steven Gerrard admits that he is not "100% fit" to feature for England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes that it is "too early" for Fabio Capello to consider the midfielder for England duty.

The Three Lions are due to join up for the side's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro. However, the Reds talisman, who has played 25 minutes of football since his injury, thinks that he needs time to regain full fitness.

"I think everyone knows I'm still not 100% match fit. I'm not really sure how much I'm going to play against Everton so, in my opinion, it's probably still a bit too early.

"I don't make the decisions, those decisions are down to the England manager, whether he picks me or not.

"But in my opinion there are other players out there who are match fit who are probably more suitable for that game, but we'll have to wait and see. If I'm called up, I'll deal with it."

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old is expected to start on the bench for Liverpool when they go head to head with Everton in the Merseyside derby this weekend.
