Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is expected to miss Saturday's Merseyside derby as he makes a return to full fitness.
The midfielder came on as a substitute in last week's victories against Brighton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, but manager Kenny Dalglish suggested that the Reds would continue to use their skipper sparingly.
"The Merseyside derby isn't the most important thing - Steven Gerrard is," said Dalglish.
"We will manage him as best we can, and that has always been our attitude."
Liverpool go into the match in fifth position, while Everton occupy 11th place.
