Jordan Henderson insists that he will not suffer burnout after the European Under-21 Championships this summer.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has insisted that he will not be suffering from fatigue before the new season gets underway.

The 22-year-old is due to lead the England Under-21s in their European Championships campaign in Israel this summer just weeks ahead of the Reds' pre-season tour.

"The maximum number of games you can play is five if you win the tournament so it's not a great deal of games to be honest," the Liverpool Echo quotes Henderson as saying.

"It will be hard in the heat and the intensity of the games but think I'll be fine for the season."

Henderson has failed to cement a regular place in Liverpool's starting lineup this season.
