Brendan Rodgers: 'We can score enough goals to win the title'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers backs his side to score enough goals to propel the Anfield club to claim the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has backed his side to score enough goals to propel the Anfield club towards winning the Premier League title this season.

If both the Reds and Manchester City win all of their remaining games this season, the title would be decided on goal difference.

"If there is any team that can score goals and turn it around, it will be us," said Rodgers, according to the Daily Mail.

"That will be our aim. We aim to score goals and be defensively strong. I have seen it before. Chelsea beat Wigan 8-0 in the last game of the season [in 2010].

"I am not paying any disrespect to Newcastle at all — but what we are saying is if there is a team that has shown it can score goals, it is us."

Liverpool currently hold second position in the Premier League table, level with City on 80 points.
