Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish warns Luis Suarez not to expect an automatic return to the first team.

Kenny Dalglish has insisted that Luis Suarez is not guaranteed a place in his Liverpool team when the striker's eight-match ban expires.

The Uruguayan is free to face Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Monday night, after serving the final game of his ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra.

Liverpool have been in good form during the striker's absence, defeating both Manchester clubs in domestic cup competition in the process.

While the Reds manager is pleased to have Suarez available again, Dalglish has warned the player that he will not be an automatic selection.

He said: "There is a lot to be taken into consideration; the fact he's not played for over a month and more importantly how well the other players have done in his absence.

"For us it is a difficult job because everyone trains hard to get picked and play and someone is going to be disappointed.

"It is great for everybody that we have Luis back in the squad. He's been training a couple of weeks now and he's stayed pretty fit so it is fantastic for us to have him available."

Suarez joined Liverpool from Ajax in 2011 for £22.8m.
