Result: Liverpool 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves suffer their third league defeat in a row with a 2-1 loss away to Liverpool.

Wolves have suffered their third league defeat in a row with a 2-1 loss away at Anfield.

Liverpool got on the scoresheet at 11 minutes when a wide Charlie Adam shot was inadvertently deflected into the net by a header from Wolves captain Roger Johnson.

The Reds made it two clear just before the break courtesy of Luis Suarez, who shot from inside the penalty area into the bottom right corner.

Wolves emerged with renewed vigour in the second half and were rewarded immediately as substitute Steven Fletcher found the net for the visitors.

Some frantic exchanges followed - including several off-the-post misses for Liverpool - but ultimately neither side could break through again and the hosts walked away with three points.

Wolves next play host to Newcastle next Saturday, while Liverpool travel to Everton for Saturday's early kick-off.
