Team News: Patrice Evra makes West Ham United debut against Liverpool

Patrice Evra is handed his West Ham United debut against Liverpool this afternoon.

Patrice Evra has been handed his West Ham United debut against Liverpool this afternoon.

The defender's inclusion marks one of two changes to the side that beat Watford in the Premier League two weeks ago, as Manuel Lanzini also comes in after a month out with a hamstring problem.

Michail Antonio and Javier Hernandez are the men to make way, both among the substitutes this afternoon.

Winston Reid is back in the squad following a throat infection but only makes it as far as the bench.

Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, makes three changes to the Reds contingent that brought home a five-goal advantage from Porto last week as he tries to extend the club's unbeaten streak at home in the league to a 16th game.

Emre Can is back in the XI following suspension, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Matip also coming in. Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson drop to the bench, while Georginio Wijnaldum misses out.

Joe Gomez, returning from a knee injury, takes a berth on the bench.

Liverpool: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Can, Milner; Mane, Firmino, Salah
Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Gomez, Henderson, Moreno, Lallana, Solanke

West Ham United: Adrian; Cresswell, Collins, Ogbonna, Zabaleta, Evra; Mario, Kouyate, Noble, Lanzini; Arnautovic
Subs: Hart, Reid, Hugill, Hernandez, Byram, Antonio, Rice
