Daniel Agger 'hopes' he will be a Liverpool player next season

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says that he is hopeful of being at Anfield next season, despite rumours of a possible exit.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has claimed that he expects to still be at Anfield next season.

The Denmark international has been at the centre of exit rumours in the last two transfer windows, with Barcelona being touted as a possible destination.

The centre-back has struggled to maintain a first-team position under manager Brendan Rodgers this season, but Agger is hopeful that he will stay at the club.

"I hope so, I can't see why I shouldn't be there," Agger told Sky Sports News. "There's always talk, but I'm here now and that's the most important thing."

With 10 games remaining in the Premier League, Liverpool have arguably their best chance of winning the title in recent years as they currently sit second in the table, four points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
