Liverpool links to Edinson Cavani, Isco 'wide of the mark'

Neither PSG striker Edinson Cavani nor Real Madrid playmaker Isco are believed to be in Liverpool's transfer plans as they prepare to spend the £75m Luis Suarez money.

Liverpool are not believed to be considering moves for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani or Real Madrid's Isco as part of their summer spending spree.

Cavani has apparently instructed his agent to secure him a switch to the Premier League only one season after moving to France in a £50m transfer from Napoli.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been touted as the Uruguayan's most likely destinations, with the Anfield outfit promising to spend the £75m recouped from the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona on a replacement for their 31-goal top scorer from last season.

However, Sky Sports News reports that Suarez's international compatriot is not currently on the Reds' radar, with Swansea City's Wilfried Bony or AC Milan's Mario Balotelli more likely options.

The same source claims that Madrid playmaker Isco, who could be available should Los Blancos sign James Rodriguez from Monaco as expected, is not in Brendan Rodgers's recruitment plans either.

Liverpool have already signed Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Lazar Markovic and Emre Can this summer, and are apparently closing in on the signatures of Loic Remy, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi.
