Liverpool to sign Wigan Athletic's Ali Al Habsi?

Liverpool are planning a surprise move for Wigan Athletic's Ali Al Habsi, according to reports.

Liverpool are reportedly planning a surprise move for Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers already has Pepe Reina and Brad Jones in his ranks but he is looking to land the Oman captain for around £7 million, according to The People.

Spanish stopper Reina has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem and Rodgers wants to add depth to his goalkeeping department.

Al Habsi signed for Wigan in July 2011 from Bolton Wanderers.
