Dejan Lovren is in danger of pricing himself out of a move away from Liverpool this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is reportedly in danger of pricing himself out of a move away from the Reds during this summer's transfer window.

Bayer Leverkusen have been strongly linked with a move for the centre-back, who was also a reported target for Roma before Liverpool pulled the plug on a potential switch to Serie A.

However, according to Bild, Lovren is not willing to take a pay cut to move to the Bundesliga, with the Croatia international demanding that Leverkusen meet his £8.1m-a-year salary.

The report claims that the German outfit would be unwilling to offer the 30-year-old that sort of financial package, which has placed his proposed move to the BayArena in severe doubt.

Lovren has made 170 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Southampton in 2014.

The Croatian only featured in 13 Premier League matches during the 2018-19 campaign, though, and has not played a minute of the new season for Jurgen Klopp's side.
