Liverpool have reportedly earmarked Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a potential replacement for Simon Mignolet.
News outlets in Spain are claiming that the Reds are the frontrunners to sign the German, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has spoken of his frustration at having to play second fiddle to Claudio Bravo at Barca, fuelling speculation that he could be on his way towards the Camp Nou exit.
"It's good to be at Barca but the situation is difficult. I'd be lying if I said I didn't care and it isn't easy being a spectator," he told German publication Sport Bild.
"I want to be the number one and I'm convinced that's something that will happen if I continue to improve and work hard.
"I can only try to prove that I am the best [of the two goalkeepers] and that's why I came here, so it's something I will fight for."
Ter Stegen joined Barca from Borussia Monchengladbach for £9.7m in the summer.
