Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are allegedly contemplating whether to make a move for another two Liverpool players in 2024.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are allegedly contemplating whether to make a fresh bid for two more Liverpool players.

During the summer transfer window, the Premier League giants watched on as Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Sadio Mane all moved to the Middle East.

As it stands, Jurgen Klopp will not be regretful over those departures with the Merseyside giants currently sitting at the top of the domestic standings.

However, given the finances on offer in Saudi Arabia, Liverpool remain at risk of losing some of their other notable squad members if fresh approaches arrive in due course.

Mohamed Salah has been heavily linked with a switch to Al Ittihad, with the Egypt international reportedly attracting at least one bid of £150m in August.

On a positive note for Liverpool, the legendary attacker is said to be leaning towards penning a contract extension at Anfield, with negotiations underway.

Nevertheless, according to Caught Offside who spoke to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Al Ettifaq have discussed the possibility of signing Joe Gomez and Joel Matip across the next two transfer windows.

The mid-table club are currently managed by Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard, who is fighting to keep his job after an indifferent campaign thus far.

Henderson is also being linked with a transfer away having become unsettled, but that will not stop Al Ettifaq wanting to do business in January or beyond.

At one point, Gomez leaving Liverpool looked as likely as the England international staying, yet he has since proven his worth with his versatile qualities.

Injuries across the backline have resulted in Gomez being used in three different positions, making 15 starts and 12 substitute outings in all competitions.

While a departure for the 26-year-old may be complex, Joel Matip's could be more seamless with the defender out for the season with a serious knee injury and being out of contract in the summer.

Klopp has reiterated that he wants to keep the centre-back beyond 2023-24, but that is far from a given at this stage.
