Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel hints that he could have "alternative" options to staying at Liverpool amid further rumours linking him with a move to Rafael Benitez's Napoli.

Liverpool defender and reported Napoli target Martin Skrtel has hinted that he could have the option to leave the Reds this summer.

The Slovakian centre-back has been strongly linked with a summer move to the Serie A outfit, where he would reunite with Rafael Benitez - his former manager at Anfield.

Although his focus at present is on overcoming the knee ligament injury that is ruling him out of this week's international fixtures, Skrtel has admitted that there are "alternatives" to staying on Merseyside, and refused to rule out a move in this transfer window.

"Anything is possible. There are alternatives, but the current priority for me is to be healthy again," he told reporters.

Skrtel joined Liverpool from Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg for a fee of £6.5m in 2008.
