Young Swede departs Liverpool

Dutch side FC Utrecht complete the signing of Liverpool's young Swedish attacker Kristoffer Peterson.

Liverpool youngster Kristoffer Peterson has left the club for Dutch side FC Utrecht.

The 19-year-old arrived at Anfield in January 2011 from Savedalens IF, but he failed to make a senior appearance for the club.

He did feature heavily for Brendan Rodgers's side during pre-season earlier this summer and he scored in matches against Brondby and Preston North End.

However, the Reds have now sanctioned the departure of the attacker, who has told Utrecht's official website: "I'm happy to be here because this is a big club. I cannot wait to play games."

It is believed that Utrecht beat off competition from Eredivisie rivals PSV Eindhoven to sign the Swedish youth international.
