Malaga 1-0 Levante

Salomon Rondon heads the only goal of the game for Malaga against Levante at La Rosaleda.

Salomon Rondon scored the only goal of the game as Malaga defeated Levante 1-0 at La Rosaleda this evening.

Santiago Cazorla had Malaga's best chance of the opening 45 minutes, but he failed to find the target following a through pass by French midfielder Jeremy Toulalan.

The home side managed to break the deadlock in the 51st minute courtesy of Venezuelan striker Rondon. Joaquin was the architect, crossing for the centre-forward, who headed into the corner of the net from close range.

Arouna Kone had the best chance to draw Levante level as the match drew to a close, but he couldn't get his effort from eight yards out on target.

The three points as seen Malaga leap above Levante and into a Champions League position in the La Liga table.
