How Manchester City could line up against Atalanta BC

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Atalanta BC.

Manchester City will be looking to move onto nine points in Group C when they welcome Atalanta BC to the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side have beaten Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb in their first two matches to leave them with six points in the section ahead of the clash with Atalanta.

City will also enter the match off the back of a successful weekend in the Premier League as Saturday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace allowed them to move to within six points of leaders Liverpool in the table.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the English champions could line up in the European tie.

POSS MNC XI vs. ATL

Out: Leroy Sane (knee), Aymeric Laporte (knee)
Doubtful: Kyle Walker (illness), Nicolas Otamendi (knock)

Midfielders Fernandinho and Rodri featured in central defence against Palace at the weekend with Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi ruled out and John Stones only fit enough for the bench.

Stones made his recovery from injury as a late substitute against the Eagles, though, while the knock that kept Otamendi out of Saturday's affair is not believed to be serious.

As a result, the duo could return to the XI on Tuesday night with Guardiola likely to shuffle his pack.

Leroy Sane and Laporte remain long-term absentees with knee injuries, but English defender Kyle Walker has an outside chance of featuring as he looks to overcome a recent illness.

Elsewhere, Sergio Aguero should return to the tip of the attack despite Gabriel Jesus scoring at the weekend, while the likes of Fernandinho and David Silva could be rested ahead of a busy run of matches.
