UEFA fines Manchester City £25,000 for entering the field of play against Sporting Lisbon one minute late.

Manchester City have been fined £25,000 by UEFA for entering the pitch one minute late during a Europa League tie with Sporting Lisbon.

City are reportedly bemused by the punishment, which was imposed by UEFA following a meeting earlier today.

The fact that Porto were fined just £16,700 for the racist abuse that was aimed at City striker Mario Balotelli during a European match between the two sides in February is thought to be the cause of City's anger.

It is not yet known whether City will appeal the fine.
