Preview: Manchester City vs. Sporting Lisbon

Manchester City head into tomorrow's Europa League tie against Sporting Lisbon without a number of defenders.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is facing a defensive headache ahead of his side's Europa League tie with Sporting Lisbon tomorrow night.

Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta and Joleon Lescott are all injury doubts for the visit of the Portuguese club, who lead 1-0 from the opening leg.

Gareth Barry will also be absent with a combination of illness and a back injury.

Visiting coach Ricardo Sa Pinto is expected to make just one change to the side that defeated City last week, with former Barcelona midfielder Jeffren now fit an available for selection.

Sa Pinto has only failed to win once since taking charge of Sporting in February.
