The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester City eye possible reinforcements.
The 2018-19 champions did not bring in a single player during the January transfer window, despite suffering a defensive shortage for much of the 2019-20 campaign, but they have already started their business for the summer.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Etihad.
Wednesday morning's Manchester City transfer talk news roundup:
Sevilla defender Jules Kounde agrees personal terms with Manchester City?
Manchester City are reportedly expected to finalise a deal for Jules Kounde after agreeing terms on a five-year contract with the Sevilla defender.
The Citizens are rumoured to have turned their focus to Kounde after accepting defeat in their long-running pursuit of Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.
City have so far been unable to reach an agreement with Sevilla for the 21-year-old's services, but Foot Mercato suggests that a transfer is edging closer.
Kounde is said to be keen on a switch to the Etihad Stadium, but Pep Guardiola's men must now match Sevilla's supposed £64m valuation before the October 5 deadline.
City, who have already brought in centre-back Nathan Ake this window, kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
Paris Saint-Germain 'leading Manchester City in Kalidou Koulibaly race'
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly stolen a march on Manchester City in the race for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
City continue to be linked with a swoop for the Senegal international, but negotiations are understood to have reached an impasse between the two clubs.
As a result, City are reportedly eyeing up other defensive options - with Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde rumoured to have agreed personal terms with the Citizens - and Koulibaly could therefore be heading to the French capital instead.
According to The Telegraph, PSG are also keen to bolster their defence following the departure of Thiago Silva, and the Ligue 1 champions are now at the head of the queue for Koulibaly.
The report claims that Thomas Tuchel's side are willing to fork out a sizeable figure of £75m for the 29-year-old, whom Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso has admitted could be on his way out if a suitable offer is received.
Koulibaly, who is contracted to Gli Azzurri until 2023, played the full 90 minutes as Napoli returned to Serie A action with a 2-0 win at Parma on Sunday.
