Former Manchester United defender Henning Berg has claimed that Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is a "risk".

The 21-year-old scored twice in his club's 3-3 draw with Sunderland on Saturday, but was again involved in an altercation with teammates, something which Berg admitted was a common occurance.

"Balotelli has upset people throughout his career. It's always a risk when you bring a player like that into a club," Berg told talkSPORT.

"Mancini knew him and must have thought he could handle him, but this is what you get with a player like Balotelli.

"You get some fantastic goals but also the other side where he doesn't look interested, doesn't follow the rules, he he's his own man and is not part of the group."

City are currently second in the Premier League table.
