Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says that he is happy with the progress made by his side this season after winning a league and cup double.

Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City "are not ready to be winners of all the titles" despite making huge strides in his second campaign at the club.

The Citizens are on course to set a new points record in the Premier League with three games to play and also lifted the EFL Cup in February.

City have had a couple of setbacks along the way, however, having crashed out of the FA Cup in the fifth round to Wigan Athletic, before losing to Liverpool in the last eight of the Champions League.

Speaking ahead of City's match against Huddersfield Town this weekend, when the title will be formally handed over, Guardiola insisted that winning a clean sweep of trophies may never be achieved.

"Believe me, I would love to be in the final of the Champions League and I would like to be the champion of the Champions League," he said. "Liverpool deserve to be there and Real Madrid deserve to be there, but the Premier League is about consistency but football can be about one day. We lost to Wigan.

"We are happy to be champions of the Premier League. We are not ready to be winners of all the titles, I have said this many times. Maybe it will never happen but compared to last season, we have made steps forward.

"Next season we start on zero but the signs are good. We want to improve, next season. We start again. Always sport gives you another chance."

City require victory against Huddersfield to equal Chelsea's record of 96 points in a single campaign.
