Roberto Mancini insists that he is not worried by the lack of discussions over extending his contract at Manchester City.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed that he hopes to stay in charge of the Premier League leaders "for many years" to come.

The 46-year-old Italian's contract expires in the summer of 2013 and discussions are yet to start over a renewal of that deal.

However, Mancini has insisted that he is not worried by the lack of talks and is instead targeting a long stay at the Etihad Stadium.

"I would like to stay here for many years in the future but it is not important, my contract," he told a press conference. "After this year I have one more year and I don't have a problem with this.

"I haven't talked to the club but at the moment it is not important."

Mancini's City reached the Premier League summit with a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa at the weekend.
