Yaya Toure confident over title triumph

Yaya Toure admits that he and his Manchester City teammates expect to win the Premier League this season.

Yaya Toure has admitted that he and his Manchester City teammates expect to win the Premier League this season.

City overcame perhaps the toughest test of their title run-in by beating Everton 3-2 away on Saturday to move ahead of Liverpool on goal difference at the summit.

Victories over Aston Villa and West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium will see the Sky Blues clinch their second league title in three years, and Toure says that it would be a "massive disappointment" should they fail.

He told reporters: "We definitely expect for us to win the title now. It was important to win [at Everton] to keep in the hunt for the title.

"Everton are a very good side, we knew that, and at the end it was very tight, very difficult. But we needed three points.

"We've been working so hard this year and if we don't win the trophy now it will be a massive disappointment for us, and for the club and the fans as well."

Manuel Pellegrini's side host Villa at Eastlands in their penultimate game of the season on Wednesday, before welcoming the Hammers next Sunday.
