Queens Park Rangers were sent back down to the Championship on Sunday with a resounding 6-0 defeat away to Manchester City.

The hosts were dominant in the first half as goals from Sergio Aguero and Aleksandar Kolarov put them in firm control of the match.

Aguero scored twice more after the break to seal his hat-trick, while James Milner and David Silva also got on the scoresheet to help City confirm their place in next season's Champions League.

Goal

Joe Hart: Had one shaky moment in the second half when he dropped a cross, but this was an otherwise decent showing from the England international. (7/10)

Defence

Pablo Zabaleta: A typical 90 minutes from the Argentine, who bombed up and down the right flank with plenty of dynamism. (7/10)

Martin Demichelis: Did not always look convincing at the back, though he was not called upon all that often. (6/10)

Eliaquim Mangala: Did not do much wrong in the centre of City's defence. Tackled hard and provided the hosts with a solid base. (7/10)

Aleksandar Kolarov: Showed plenty of intent getting forward and was rewarded with a goal from a trademark free kick to put City 2-0 up. (7/10)

Midfield

Fernando: Had a quiet yet effective afternoon in central midfield. Was often on hand to thwart QPR when they dared to get forward. (7/10)

Fernandinho: Did a good job of anchoring the home side's midfield and also helped out plenty of times in attack. (7/10)

James Milner: An excellent display from the England international, whose energy was vital to the City cause. Made the right wing his own with a commanding performance. (8/10)

Frank Lampard: Kept the hosts ticking over with assurance. Was also useful in advanced areas before he was brought off with 10 minutes left. (7/10)

David Silva: Pulled the strings from midfield thanks to a blistering 90 minutes. This was the Spaniard at his dazzling best. (9/10)

Attack

Sergio Aguero: Was ruthless up front and was duly rewarded with a hat-trick. Also worked incredibly hard in and around the box, linking up brilliantly with his teammates. (9/10)

Substitutes

Wilfried Bony: Looked lively when he came off the bench for the final half an hour. Could have got on the scoresheet were it not for Robert Green. (6/10)

Yaya Toure: Almost found the net soon after coming on. Slipped seamlessly into City's fast-paced play. (7/10)

Jesus Navas: Caused QPR some trouble down the right wing when he was introduced with around 10 minutes remaining. (6/10)

Goal

Robert Green: Despite conceding six goals, the shotstopper produced some fine saves to keep the score down on a difficult afternoon. (6/10)

Defence

Steven Caulker: Struggled to contain the hosts and often looked like he would rather have been somewhere else. (4/10)

Richard Dunne: Found life extremely tough at the heart of QPR's back three and was routinely exploited by City's forward players. (5/10)

Clint Hill: Did not look commanding at all at the back and was duly punished for his lack of commitment. (4/10)

Midfield

Matt Phillips: Showed the odd flash of what he is capable of, but the midfielder went missing far too often. (5/10)

Karl Henry: An impotent display from Henry throughout. A showroom dummy may have been more effective in what was a key area of the pitch. (4/10)

Yun Suk-young: Made a dreadful error in the build-up for City's third goal, allowing the ball to run through to Sergio Aguero. That was probably his biggest contribution to the match. (4/10)

Leroy Fer: One of QPR's better players on the day. Almost found the net when his looping effort came back off the crossbar. (6/10)

Joey Barton: After claiming before the match that members of the QPR squad have not pulled their weight this season, the midfielder did little to suggest that he was not one of those players. (5/10)

Attack

Charlie Austin: Came to life every now and then up front, but struggled to make an impact. Was caught offside too many times to remember. (5/10)

Bobby Zamora: Gave the visitors a physical presence in attack, though he also had little joy in the final third due to a lack of service. (5/10)

Substitutes

Junior Hoilett: Injected a bit of dynamism into QPR's forward play in the second half. However, he faded with the rest of the team as City kept finding the net. (6/10)

Niko Kranjcar: Did not have much of an effect on the away side when he was introduced off the bench for the final 10 minutes. (5/10)

Shaun Wright-Phillips: Got a great reception from the City fans during the remaining few minutes and then swiftly disappeared. (5/10)
