Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini hopes to add to his squad in the summer in order to cope better with injuries next season.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini hopes to add to his squad in the summer.

After an almost flawless first half of the domestic season, the Citizens' form has dipped in 2012 as African Cup of Nations call-ups have been followed by injuries to key players.

City have dropped 13 points this year and Mancini is looking to ensure that he is more prepared for a demanding fixture schedule in the next campaign.

"We lost Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure for the African Nations Cup, had some injuries and lost Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott and Sergio Aguero in the last two games," the Italian told The Sun.

"Maybe next year if we lose two important players, we can have another two good players and we can change.

"We finished our job to build a strong team. Now it's enough to put in three or four more players with a strong mentality."

Mancini is an admirer of Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Luka Modric.
