Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot praises the strength of the squad at Old Trafford amid a busy run of matches.

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has said that the strength of the squad at Old Trafford is currently on full display, with the Red Devils competing for silverware in four separate competitions.

Erik ten Hag's side are third in the Premier League table, only five points behind leaders Arsenal, while they will take on West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the start of March.

The Red Devils will have a chance to win some silverware this weekend, with the team set to tackle Newcastle United in the final of the EFL Cup.

However, Man United's immediate focus is on the Europa League, as they prepare to welcome Barcelona to Old Trafford for the second leg of their knockout round playoff.

Recent injuries and suspensions have tested Ten Hag's squad, but the team have continued to pick up strong results, including a 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the first leg of their clash last week.

Dalot was an unused substitute at Camp Nou, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka in strong form since the World Cup.

However, the Portugal international will be in contention to start at Old Trafford, as he bids to finally overcome the hamstring issue that he picked up while representing his country in Qatar.

Dalot has said that "everybody counts" at the club, with Ten Hag needing to rotate in recent matches.

"Obviously, it's been a busy schedule but we are showing, in the last few games, that we are a squad," Dalot told United Review. "A lot of players are coming from the bench and making a difference.

"A lot of rotation and we are still getting the result and still getting the performance. We can show we are doing well, as a squad, and this is what we want to build for the future as well.

"That everybody counts and everyone can have a say in this team. It will only improve us and get us to be better for these kind of busy schedules."

Dalot also opened up on Thursday's clash with Barcelona, as Man United look to become the first team to beat the Catalan outfit since the end of October.

"The expectation is for a high-quality game, an exciting game, and I think the fans will enjoy it. We will try to enjoy it as well and, hopefully at the end, we will celebrate," the defender added.

"Obviously, these kind of games set up a lot of things – if we are up to the level if we want to win trophies, if we want to be in the best European games there are, we have to show we can win these games.

"I think there is no better team to play against than one of the best teams in the world and we have to be ready and have to try to win it."

Dalot's current deal with Man United is due to expire next summer, but a recent report claimed that the 23-year-old is now on the verge of penning a new long-term contract.
