Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United could book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a game to spare when they host Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils have won three of their four Group H matches so far to lead the way ahead of both PSG and RB Leipzig, including a surprise triumph in the French capital on matchday one.

One more point is all that is required to secure their progress from a difficult group, and they head into Wednesday's match off the back of a four-game winning run across all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

David de Gea

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

David de Gea was forced off at half time on Sunday after sustaining a knock to his knee in the first half, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that he will recover in time for the PSG match and the fact that he was able to complete the half suggests that it is not too serious.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Donny van de Beek was finally handed his first Premier League start at the weekend and went on to play the full 90 minutes, but after the game uploaded a picture of his swollen ankle to Instagram, raising slight doubts over his fitness for this one.

Paul Pogba

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Paul Pogba was again absent from the squad for Sunday's comeback win over Southampton, but he is set to return to training ahead of this match and Solskjaer remains hopeful that he may be available.

Anthony Martial

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Anthony Martial also missed out on Sunday after falling ill overnight and he will continue to be assessed ahead of this match in the hope that he recovers in time.

Alex Telles

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Solskjaer revealed that Alex Telles picked up "an issue" during the win over Southampton but he is optimistic that it is nothing serious and the full-back could be in contention for this match.

Eric Bailly

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Eric Bailly is still sidelined with a muscle injury which Solskjaer suggested on October 20 should only keep him out for up to four weeks. The centre-back should be in contention again soon, but a slight degree of mystery surrounds exactly when that will be the case.

Jesse Lingard

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Jesse Lingard is now back in training after a period of self-isolation and should be in contention for this match, although he remains out of favour under Solskjaer so a start is unlikely.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 12 (vs. Manchester City)

Luke Shaw is still a couple of weeks away from being ready to return from his hamstring injury, having only recently begun his rehab and not yet returned to training.

Scott McTominay

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. PSG)

Scott McTominay was once again not involved against Southampton and is yet to return to training following an unspecified injury, making him a major doubt for this game too.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer has ruled Phil Jones out until after Christmas as he continues to battle a knee injury, although he has been left out of Man United's Premier League and Champions League squads anyway.

Axel Tuanzebe

Return date: December 5 (vs. West Ham United)

Axel Tuanzebe picked up his third booking of the group stages during last week's win over Istanbul Basaksehir, meaning that he will miss this match through suspension.
