Man United injury, suspension news vs. Man City: Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans updates ahead of Manchester derby

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Manchester United will be aiming to bounce back from successive defeats in the Premier League when they head to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon to tackle Manchester City in the Manchester derby.

The Red Devils have been beaten in their last two league games against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, which has left them down in 13th spot in the Premier League table.

However, Ruben Amorim's side will enter this match off the back of a positive result, having come from behind to beat Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Man City, who have only won one of their last 10 games in all competitions during a hugely difficult period.

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Manchester City)

Evans was again not in the squad against Plzen on Thursday night, but the centre-back is back in training, and it is thought that he will be available for selection this weekend if required.

Luke Shaw

Shaw has only just worked his way back from a calf issue, but the England international has now picked up a hamstring problem and is set to be sidelined for several weeks; the defender has opened up on his devastation at his ongoing injury issues, but Amorim has promised to continue backing him.
