Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick believes that they are beginning to gather momentum after a "shocking start" to their Premier League campaign.
United are currently fifth after Sunday's 1-0 win against Arsenal, and Carrick thinks that their poor form in the opening three months to the season has begun to change.
"After a shocking start we are not in a bad position, we never really got too despondent," Carrick told reporters.
"We were frustrated with our performances and results. But you have to stay patient and trust yourself. We knew there was a long way to go. There still is a long way to go.
"It is easy to jump on the bandwagon when we have lost a game or two and people are saying it is all wrong. We knew that wasn't the case."
David Moyes's side are now on a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
