Former Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick compares Mason Greenwood's finishing ability to that of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

Former Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick has told Sports Mole that Mason Greenwood reminds him of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

Greenwood enjoyed a breakthrough season for United last term, scoring 17 goals in 49 appearances having established himself as a regular in the first team.

The 19-year-old has been particularly praised for his natural goalscoring ability, and Chadwick believes that there are elements to his finishing which he has not seen since the early 1990s.

"I've not really seen anything like it for years and years what he can do," Chadwick told Sports Mole.

"I did a couple of games for MUTV so my missus bought it so we could watch it and I could watch myself on TV and they had Mason Greenwood's goals when he was playing in the Under-18s, Under-23s and it was like wow.

"He's so comfortable on both feet, which obviously makes it a living hell for defenders and he's got that uncanny knack, like Robbie Fowler, like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer where they get the shot off so early and it goes through the defenders legs to leave the keeper unsighted.

"To finish that well at that age - I can't remember anyone since Robbie Fowler who can do that at that age."

Greenwood has scored one goal in four outings for United so far this season.
