Bruno Fernandes has acknowledged that he wants to win as much silverware at Manchester United as Portuguese compatriots Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo.
While Fernandes has joined a United side which has only been challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, the playmaker has undoubtedly boosted the club's hope of achieving that target and prevailing in a cup competition.
However, the former Sporting Lisbon man wants to emulate the likes of Nani and Ronaldo, who won numerous top-flight crowns and the 2008 Champions League during their time in England.
Speaking to Canal 11, Fernandes said: "Coming to a club that hasn't won in a while but is hungry to win, is what a player needs. Having names like Cristiano and Nani, who won great trophies here, makes me want to try to have those achievements as well.
"Nani, with whom I had the opportunity to work with at Sporting, always spoke very well of Manchester to me. And the fact that Cristiano gave good references to people who were asking about me before my signing, makes me proud of what I have been doing."
Fernandes has contributed three goals and four assists from his first nine appearances for United.
