Mark Hughes: 'We need to build on Manchester United victory'

Mark Hughes believes that Stoke City must build on the victory over Manchester United last weekend.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has urged his players to go on an extended run of positive results following the victory over Manchester United last weekend.

Hughes believes that his side have struggled to build on impressive displays in the past but is hoping that the Potters will continue their form against Southampton on Saturday.

"We want to try to build on it. It would be a real disappointment if we can't go on a run now," Hughes told reporters.

"We haven't been able to do it to any great extent after big results but it's about making sure you're working hard to make that happen."

Stoke ended a run of six games without a win by beating the Premier League champions at the Britannia Stadium.
