Louis van Gaal: 'I am a Gunners fan on Sunday'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits that he will cheer on Arsenal when they take on rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that he will be cheering on Arsenal tomorrow as his side make a late surge for the top four.

A 1-0 victory at Norwich City earlier on Saturday saw United move just one point behind fourth-placed rivals Manchester City, who host the Gunners at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

"I am more or less tomorrow indeed a Gunners fan," Van Gaal told reporters. "But it's always a difficult game between these kinds of teams and after the defeat against Real Madrid it's not so easy for Manchester City to revive.

"We keep the pressure on our competitors and we hope we can achieve the Champions League place because we want to play at the highest level.

"But it is still very tough because we now have to play away against West Ham United and we have seen them already in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, it was not so easy so we have to repeat that."

United travel to the Hammers on Tuesday night before hosting Bournemouth at Old Trafford on the final day of the season.
