Team News: Mesut Ozil misses out for Arsenal

A hip problem forces Mesut Ozil to sit out Arsenal's Premier League trip to Manchester City.

Arsenal are without the creative Mesut Ozil for this afternoon's clash away at top-four rivals Manchester City.

The German playmaker has been sidelined by a slight hip problem that manager Arsene Wenger has opted not to risk.

Danny Welbeck is the player that has been promoted from the bench to cover Ozil's absence, having scored the winner as a substitute last time out against Norwich City.

As for the hosting Citizens, the experienced Yaya Toure and skipper Vincent Kompany both miss out through injury.

It means that young Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho is selected for consecutive Premier League games for the first time in his career, while Eliaquim Mangala has come in to partner Nicolas Otamendi at the back.

Manchester City: Hart; Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Clichy; Fernando, Fernandinho, Navas, De Bruyne; Iheanacho, Aguero
Subs: Caballero, Angelino, Demichelis, Delph, Toure, Sterling, Bony

Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Elneny, Ramsey; Sanchez, Iwobi, Welbeck; Giroud
Subs: Ospina, Gibbs, Coquelin, Wilshere, Cazorla, Campbell, Walcott
