Manchester United could make a statement later this morning in light of speculation surrounding manager Sir Alex Ferguson's future, according to a report.

The Red Devils may look to clear up rumours suggesting that the Scot will end his 26-year tenure at Old Trafford at the end of the season, reports BBC Sport.

The Telegraph had earlier reported that Ferguson will announce his departure later this week after wrapping up his 13th Premier League title with the club this campaign.

United's two remaining games this season are against Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion.
