Report: Louis van Gaal wants to retain Ryan Giggs at Manchester United

Louis van Gaal will reportedly keep Ryan Giggs on his coaching staff if he becomes the next manager of Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal will reportedly keep Ryan Giggs on the Manchester United coaching staff if he becomes the club's next manager.

The 62-year-old coach is widely expected to be named as the successor to David Moyes, who was sacked in April less than 10 months after he replaced Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm.

Giggs took charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis following Moyes's sacking, winning two of his four games.

According to Goal.com, Van Gaal is keen to retain Giggs because he sees him as a useful link to the club.

Van Gaal is currently preparing his Netherlands side for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
