Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane claims that Paul Pogba "is a big problem" at Old Trafford, with the Frenchman currently struggling for form.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has claimed that Paul Pogba "is a big problem" at Old Trafford, with the Frenchman currently struggling to justify his £89m price-tag.

Pogba was left on the bench for United's Champions League clash against Sevilla on Tuesday night, with the midfielder not deemed fully fit after suffering a gashed leg towards the end of last week.

The 25-year-old did enter in the second half of the last-16 second leg, but could not prevent his team from exiting the competition courtesy of a 2-1 defeat.

Former United midfielder Paul Ince has criticised Pogba for his application in the European tie, and now Keane has had his say on the struggling France international.

"Pogba is a big problem and if he can't get in the starting XI then you're in trouble," Keane told ITV Sport. "You expect big players to come on and change the game. He came on and did nothing. We saw with the first goal, his reaction to it was like a schoolboy.

"He doesn't smell danger. The reason you're part of a team is that when your teammate makes a mistake, you cover for him and make up for it.

"No-one is helping each other and they're not playing like the great United teams where you have to dig a result out even on an off night. They're playing as individuals and don't seem capable of being able to do that."

Pogba has scored three times and registered 10 assists in 27 appearances for United this season.
