Deadline day key events
Barcelona, PSG handed boost in Kvaratskhelia chase?
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly received encouragement to retain an interest in Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
There were plenty of unknowns when the playmaker made the switch to Serie A during the summer of 2022 with his most notable experience having come in Russia.
However, the Georgia international has already etched himself into Napoli's history having helped them win the Serie A title in his first campaign at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
A total of 30 goals and 28 assists have been contributed in 102 appearances for a club that have recently moved back to the top of the Serie A table under Antonio Conte.
Man United, Liverpool 'in three-way fight' to sign Serie A star
Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs tracking a Serie A star ahead of 2025.
The North-West outfits have endured contrasting fortunes during 2024-25, the latter sitting at the top of the Premier League table when their rivals have decided to opt for a change in direction.
Ruben Amorim has left Sporting Lisbon for Old Trafford and is currently preparing for his first game in charge against Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Nevertheless, with just six weeks remaining before the start of the January transfer window, both clubs will already be contemplating ways to strengthen their respective squads.
"Like a father": Liverpool sent come-and-get-me plea by Slot favourite
Benfica midfielder and former Arne Slot protege Orkun Kokcu has waxed lyrical about the Liverpool manager's impact on his career amid links with an eventual transfer to Anfield.
The Turkey international served as Feyenoord's club captain during the 2022-23 campaign under Slot, before transferring to Portuguese giants Benfica in a €25m (£20.9m) deal last summer.
The Eagles beat a handful of top Premier League outfits - including Liverpool - to Kokcu's signature, and the 23-year-old has quickly adapted to life in the Primeira Liga with 11 goals and 14 assists in 58 appearances in all tournaments.
Filling Enzo Fernandez's boots at the Estadio da Luz, Kokcu has come up with four goals and three assists in 15 matches in the current campaign, largely operating through the centre but also making an impact on the left-hand side.
